Only a Few More Sleeps
Time to get excited and to spread the word!
Also a good idea to offer a few prayers for a fine day. Apparently if you stand a statue of St Joseph on his head that has some effect - unsure if this has been ratified by the vatican so the blog will not be held liable.
This week all families will be given 10 flyers to distribute to friends, family and neighbours. The more the merrier. Remember rain or shine, a profit of pounds or pennies, it will be a chance to get together and enjoy a fun day together.

Tag Your Bag
Something new this year - customised Joey's bag tags - insert a card with your kids' going-home schedule:
On The Edge
Big big big thank you to Cutting Edge - one of Australia's leading production and post production facilities. From their jaw-dropping base at West End, the team at Cutting Edge creates some of the finest advertising, animation and short and long form television you'll see anywhere. Have a look at their website at www.cuttingedge.com.au to see what they do and how well they do it. Matt Lawson (dad of Will and Jacob) helps every year with organising the audio visual equipment that contributes so hugely to making the fair what it is - a lively, colourful, entertaining celebration. As well as the kit, Matt brings along Bob who actually knows how to set it up and get it to work! Thanks Matt and Cutting Edge once again.

Fair Photos R Us! - A picture is worth a few $$$$'s
Get your photo with the Easter Bunny / On the Rides / At the Animal Farm / Out and about at the Fair. Our flashing photographer Alan Hamilton ( Simonas' Dad Yr4) will once again be out and about snapping those photos for us. This year we will have them available for a very small price with proceeds going to the school.
Please see the slideshow adjacent for some of the great photos he has taken at previous St Joey's Fairs.
If you would like a special family photo all coming down the slide or eating donuts that can also be arranged.
Schduled photo times will be published on the blog shortly and announced by the MC on the day.

“Beautiful Bakes” Bids You Bake Big
All families should receive one cake box in the next two weeks. If not, please check with your eldest’s class teacher or collect one from the office. If you will be unable to fill the box(can’t bake/no time), please return to the office as soon as possible.
Please bake a suitable scrumptious item, place in the box and return it on Saturday if possible, to 37 The Drive, Bardon so that it can priced ready for the fair.
If cooking is not your thing, you could donate eggs, caster sugar, or unsalted butter (or money for ingredients) for our passionate cooks to use. Please bring in asap!
There is no class decorating competition this year. BUT all children are welcome to decorate the family box and we will announce ONE WINNER - chosen from all boxes decorated.
We are offer an icing/decorating service for cakes and patty cakes. So if decorating is not your forte or time is short, send any un-iced cakes and patty cakes to us on Saturday morning, and we’ll do the rest. You can also assist by helping package bakes on Saturday, or manning our stall on Fair Day.
“Beautiful Bakes” welcomes you all . Call us. Happy baking and decorating. Claire Rush

Soft drinks and bottled water donations needed
So I am looking for donations of soft drinks, poppers and bottled water from school families.
Please either drop off your donations of drinks to Mrs Rose’s 3R classroom (the first classroom you pass as you go up the walkway from the roundabout/Cecil Road entrance) or contact me at jimbhunter@me.com or on 0408 200 181 and I will come and collect them from your place!
Many thanks to those families who have already donated, and to those who have volunteered (or been volunteered) to help at the stall on fair day.

The Lucky Money Tree is back!
Due to its popularity last year, we will be raffling another lucky tree covered in instant scratchies (and a couple of little easter suprises too). Not only will the winner take a lovely potted tree away for their home - but they have the chance to be extra lucky and scratch themselves a fortune! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and are available at the library leading up to the Fair. Tickets will also be sold on the day.

How would you like your very own, exclusive parking space, front and centre, right outside Bardon House - for the rest of the school year? Yes, it's the GOLDEN CAR SPACE and for $5 the chance to have your name on it could be yours. Seriously. Mrs Flynn and the teachers have very generously offered one of their spaces to the lucky winner of this raffle and we are very grateful - as will the lucky winner be! Tickets will go on sale mid-next week at school and will be available at the Fair. Stay tuned for more details and spread the word!
Don't Be A Meanie, Help Sell A Panini!
Okay, that headline was pretty ordinary but there's nothing tasteless about paninis. Filled with tasty, fresh Italian ingredients, they are a breeze to make and easy to sell. Donna McHugh and Lina Giacoboni are looking for helpers on the day - an hour or two would be great. The more, the merrier - and the shorter shifts for all. Contact either Lina on 0412 186 411 or
Nice Buns!
A Hole Lotta Love
Anne White (mum of Rory) is no nut - she knows what will make a heap of D'oh! But she needs helpers. It's easy and it's fun and the perks are excellent. On the job training provided and taste-testing responsibilities are assured. The more helpers, the shorter the shifts will be, and won't the kids love you? Contact Anne at anne34@tpg.com.au
Let's Get Those Bacon & Egg Rolls Rolling
Has anyone got any contacts with purveyors of either bacon or eggs or both? We are looking for mates rates here - not freebies. As the fair is early this year, straight after 8am Mass, we are thinking a soft roll stuffed with a freshly fried egg and crispy bacon with a Merlo coffee will have some appeal! Please contact Denise Christensen at mdchristensen@optusnet.com.au if you have any contacts. Mrs Lamb - any chance of ramping up production in the Joey's hen-house?
